Profound alternatives: five tools for when the enterprise monitor is too much
Profound is the most complete AI visibility monitor on the market. It is also priced and built for enterprises. If you are a brand with one market, an agency with twenty small clients, or an online store that needs the fix rather than the report, there are better fits.
Geoffy is one of the five below. We say so plainly and rate the rest on their merits.
What Profound does well
Profound tracks how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews talk about your brand, at a depth the others do not match. Conversation volume estimates, crawler analytics that show which AI bots hit which pages, citation analysis, and reporting built for a board pack. Large brands with several markets and a data team get real value from it.
If that is you, Profound is the right tool. The rest of this page is for everyone else.
Why people look for an alternative
- Price. Profound is an enterprise contract. Most independent brands and agencies cannot justify it for one market.
- Depth they will not use. Crawler analytics and conversation volume modelling are useful to a data team. A marketing manager wants to know whether ChatGPT names the brand this week.
- It reports, it does not fix. Profound tells you a rival was cited. Changing your product pages is still your job.
- No store integration. Profound reads the web. It does not read a Shopify or WordPress catalogue, and it does not publish anything to one.

Each one in more detail
Peec AI
The closest like for like. Daily prompt runs, share of voice, sentiment, and a source report that shows which domains the engines trust in your category. Less depth than Profound, much less cost, and enough for most marketing teams. $10M ARR by May 2026.
Scrunch AI
Adds buyer personas to monitoring, so you see how the engines answer for different customer types. Useful for B2B where a procurement lead and an end user ask different questions.
Otterly AI
The budget monitor. Prompt and link tracking with a clean dashboard. Agencies use it for small clients. Shallow on sources.
AthenaHQ
Scores your visibility and suggests content. The suggestions are generic because it never reads your catalogue.
Geoffy
Ours. Geoffy installs on a Shopify or WordPress store and builds a machine readable version of every in stock product: a plain fact block on the page, Product JSON-LD, a per product grounding file and llms.txt at the root. Then it asks the engines real buying questions, scores each product and corrects what drifts. Available now
What you lose against Profound: crawler analytics, conversation volume estimates and the enterprise reporting layer. What you gain: the fix, per product, without an engineer.
Which one to pick
Brand marketing team, one or two markets: Peec.
Agency with many small clients: Otterly for the small accounts, Peec for the ones that pay.
Online store, any size: Geoffy. Add Peec if you want the category source map.
Enterprise with a data team and a board pack to fill: stay with Profound.
Questions people ask
Is Geoffy a Profound competitor?
Only in part. Both monitor AI answers. Geoffy also changes the product data behind them, and only works for e-commerce. Profound goes far deeper on reporting. Some stores will run both.
What is the cheapest Profound alternative?
Otterly for monitoring only. For a store that also wants the fix, Geoffy’s entry tier is under £200 a month and covers 250 products.
Does Profound work for Shopify stores?
It monitors any brand. It does not read the Shopify catalogue or publish to product pages, so the fix happens elsewhere.
